Open and honest

Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions has gained a global reputation for providing guests with a true Great White experience, marrying the thrill of diving with a shark-first approach to ecology, habitat and environment.

Our reputation has been built over the last 50 years, thanks to the pioneering spirit of Rodney Fox, and it’s something we are very proud of. It’s why we’ve made promises to ourselves and to our guests:

To be open and honest with our guests – we encourage you to talk to us about what sort of experience you are looking for, then we can advise you on the most appropriate tour.

To be open and honest about the Great Whites – we’d like to say there’s a 100% chance of seeing a Great White. In reality, while much of the year continues deliver near 100% success rates for years on end, at other times nature can throw us a curve ball.

To be open and honest about expectations – seasons are a determining factor for a lot of guests. We run longer expeditions in autumn and winter (April to August) because the days are shorter and the weather is more variable. The Great Whites are seasonal too – you’ll see males all year round, but the giant females are only around in autumn and winter. Sometimes of the year do have less reliability for sharks and some months can suffer from poor weather.  Please see the “Best Time of the Year” in our FAQ’s section for recent trends. If you are one of the very unlucky, your next tour is credited at half-price.  In the unlikely event of a second misfortune, there is a 100% credit toward a next trip.

To be open and honest about who we are – our driving force has always been, and always will be, the sharks. From this has come knowledge, and an understanding of our responsibility to protect the world they inhabit. We love sharing our passion with our guests as well as providing them with an unforgettable adventure.

Our aim is to make your Great White experience everything you imagined it would be. It gives us great pleasure to welcome guests onboard Princess II and into the Rodney Fox Shark Expedition family.
